Lowell Community Health Center (Lowell CHC) is a dynamic and community-based healthcare organization that values diversity and excellence in patient care.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Purchasing Director to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a crucial role in managing our sourcing and procurement processes to ensure the highest quality supplies and services are available to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of supplies and services.
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure high-quality products and services at competitive prices.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities and offerings.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their sourcing needs and requirements and provide solutions to meet those needs.
- Oversee the procurement process, from identifying vendors to issuing purchase orders and managing delivery timelines.
- Monitor and track supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms and identifying areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulations to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to foster a collaborative and efficient sourcing environment.
- Ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards in all sourcing activities.
- Provide regular reports and updates on sourcing activities, including cost savings and supplier performance metrics, to senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or equivalent.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in purchasing.
Frequent contact with patients, families, visitors, nurses, and other department staff. Occasional requests to change work areas to cover another priority area to meet patient needs. Occasional stress and pressure caused by multiple simultaneous demands. May be exposed to various infectious diseases.
Universal precautions and techniques are included in orientation, and the availability of protective wear is supported and encouraged when the employee is at risk for exposure.
