Diagnostic Imaging Technologist

This position is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians and other licensed medical providers in diagnosing the disease and injuries of patients at the Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board Inc.
Key Responsibilities- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
- Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of the specified area of the body requested by the physician.
- Maintain radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
- Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
- Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
- Prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, make minor repairs on radiologic equipment, and arrange for repairs as needed.
- Establish and maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control programs required of the Radiology program.
- Schedule appointments for patient examinations.
- Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
- Order and maintain supplies for the Radiology Department.
- Maintain effective, collaborative interdepartmental and external relations.
- Comply with federal laws and regulations as required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Participate in Core Connections training and apply GPTLHB Core Connections concepts and practices in their work.
- Exemplify excellent customer service with tribal stakeholders, health board colleagues, program partners, service recipients, visitors, and guests.
- Foster a work environment of wellness, courtesy, friendliness, helpfulness, and respect.
- Relate well and work collaboratively with coworkers and all levels of staff in a professional manner.

- Proficiency with computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other Internet technologies.
- Valid driver's license must be kept current, and certificates, credentials, or licenses must be kept current and consistent with regulations required by applicable federal, state, and/or grant regulations.
- Able to promote an alcohol-, tobacco-, and drug-free lifestyle.
- Embrace modes of appearance and attire that reflect a professional presence.
- Adhere to GPTLHB policies and procedures.
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions, including exposure to contagious diseases. Employees may be required to use protective clothing, such as masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, or shields.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
