The Role:

As a Materials Co-Op, you will be responsible for evaluating current materials processes and identifying areas for improvement in efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety. You will design and implement systems for inventory management, including replenishment strategies and stock level optimization. Additionally, you will develop and maintain standards and procedures for materials handling, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate current materials processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Design and implement systems for inventory management
  • Develop and maintain standards and procedures for materials handling
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and enhance overall material availability and inventory turns
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and process changes
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly communicate ideas to all levels within the organization
  • Experience with ERP system (SAP) is a plus
  • Ability to lead teams and implement projects through continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean or Six Sigma (DMAIC)
  • Experience in implementing Lean systems at the plant level
  • Experience with time and motion studies; capacity modeling
