Reliability Engineering Co-Op Position

About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Reliability Engineer to join our Quality and Reliability team. As a Reliability Engineer, you will design quality processes, implement reliability strategies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards of Samsara's hardware.
Key Responsibilities- Design in reliability through the product development process and own product reliability modeling, testing, and validation.
- Lead product quality investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions with internal cross-functional team members and external vendors.
- Analyze and investigate defect trends to improve incoming material and outgoing product quality.
- Identify opportunities for corrective actions and continuous improvement through field failure investigations.
- Champion Samsara's cultural principles and embed them in the team as we scale globally and across new offices.
- MSc/PhD in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a related field.
- Experience with stress testing, fatigue testing, vibration, and shock testing, electrical stress, and environmental stress.
- Experience with failure analysis methodologies.
- Understanding of physics of failure and the application of stresses to underlying failure mechanisms.
- Experience with Design for Reliability concepts.
- Experience with hardware reliability tests, third-party test oversight, and test execution.
- Self-motivated, proactive, creative, and critical problem-solving capabilities.

This is a 6-month co-op opportunity based out of our San Francisco office. Housing and relocation assistance will be provided as part of the internship experience. We are not accepting undergraduates for this co-op opportunity; you must actively be pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree in the Reliability Engineering space.
