Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive driver training programs to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including hours of service and pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
  • Organize and manage driver qualification files on a monthly basis, ensuring compliance and readiness.
  • Review and analyze accident and injury reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules and manage transportation staff to meet customer demands while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Oversee the management of assets, including equipment and personnel, to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries promptly and accurately.
  • Engage with vendors in a professional manner, ensuring their questions and concerns are resolved efficiently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall success of the transportation department.

Position Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid CDL A license.
  • Compliance with all state licensing and certification requirements.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
  • Successful completion of post-offer drug screening and criminal background check.
  • Pass a road test.
  • Possess a valid DOT Health Card or the ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to lift and transport product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights, typically ranging from 10 to 90 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the foodservice industry.
