About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Custodial Supervisor to join our team at the Vermont Veterans' Home in Bennington. As a working supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of up to nineteen employees, including custodial and laundry workers. Your duties will include supervising staff, planning and evaluating work, inventory management, and addressing employee concerns. You will also be responsible for submitting a daily report to the Director.

This is a leadership position that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with the Director and other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the Custodial/Housekeeping/Laundry Department. The ability to work cooperatively and make decisions in a fast-paced environment is essential.

The hours for this position are 6am to 2:30pm, with occasional weekend and holiday shifts. You may be required to work alternative shifts due to the operating needs of the facility.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Four (4) years or more of building custodial work, including floor care
  • One (1) or more years of experience managing, supervising, or leading a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively and make decisions in a fast-paced environment

OR

Two (2) or more years as a VVH Senior Institutional Custodian
