About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Institutional Custodian to join our team at the Vermont Veterans' Home. As a key member of our housekeeping and laundry team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in all areas of the facility, including living spaces, common areas, and patient care areas.
  • Perform laundry duties, including sorting, washing, drying, and folding linens and personal clothing.
  • Operate laundry machines and ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Remove trash and recyclables from the facility and ensure proper disposal.
  • Participate in deep cleaning and sanitizing of high-touch areas and equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals and maintain a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • No specific education or experience required.
  • At least one (1) year of experience as a custodian or housekeeper in a health care or other institutional setting is preferred.
