Position Overview
The Senior Custodial Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role within the Custodial, Housekeeping, and Laundry Division at the Vermont Veterans' Home (VVH), a facility dedicated to skilled nursing care.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities encompass a range of tasks including:
1. Oversight of laundry and custodial services.
2. Conducting thorough audits and managing inventory.
3. Training and mentoring new staff members.
4. Addressing employee inquiries and concerns.
5. Compiling and submitting daily reports to management.
6. Reassigning staff as necessary during shifts to ensure operational efficiency.
Work Schedule
This position offers two shifts: one from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM and another from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Weekend and holiday work is required, and flexibility to cover other shifts based on facility needs is essential.

Compensation
The starting pay rate for this position is competitive and may be negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
Eligibility
This role is open to all State employees and external candidates. Applicants must meet specific background check requirements, including criminal record checks and abuse registry checks.
Environmental Conditions
Work is performed in a nursing home setting, which includes various environments such as offices, common areas, and patient care zones. Candidates should be prepared to work under pressure and in all weather conditions. Physical stamina is necessary, including the ability to lift weights up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with three years of custodial experience, including floor care, or two years as an institutional custodian at VVH.
