Practice Overview

  • An opportunity is available for a Pulmonary Critical Care physician to join a dedicated team of intensivists in a modern healthcare facility.
  • This position offers a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) role, with approximately 0.75 FTE dedicated to Critical Care and 0.25 FTE focused on Outpatient Pulmonary services.
  • The ideal candidate will possess training in Critical Care, complemented by a background in Pulmonary, Internal Medicine, or Anesthesiology.
  • The intensivist team provides comprehensive 24-hour in-house coverage for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
  • Our facility features a 22-bed adult mixed medical/surgical ICU, along with a hospitalist-managed stepdown unit.
  • Plans are in place to expand the ICU by adding 10 more licensed beds to meet community demands.
  • A new Pulmonary Clinic has recently been established, enhancing our service offerings.
  • We cater to a diverse patient population, including those requiring general surgery, trauma care, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, and various medical conditions.
  • Our facility collaborates with specialists across all medical and surgical disciplines, including infectious disease experts.
  • There is a strong partnership with advanced practice providers in Pulmonology and Critical Care.
  • Our referral network spans northern Utah, southwestern Wyoming, and southern Idaho.
  • Many of our nursing staff hold CCRN certification, ensuring high standards of care.
  • We actively participate in ARDSnet studies, contributing to critical research.
  • The hospital features a state-of-the-art education center, complete with a simulation lab for training purposes.
  • Teaching opportunities are available throughout the year for family medicine residents, medical students, and nurse practitioner students.
  • Participation in the Tele-critical care service is encouraged for those interested.
  • Our facility serves as the Northern Utah base for air medical services.
  • We are recognized as a Certified Stroke Center, underscoring our commitment to quality care.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonology or Critical Care Medicine.
  • An unrestricted medical license in Utah (MD or DO) is required, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Completion of a U.S. ACGME Fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases or Critical Care Medicine is essential.
