Job Overview

We are looking for a Personal Care Assistant to become a vital member of our team. In this role, you will provide essential support, supervision, and goal-oriented activities for individuals in need of assistance.

Position Type: Part-Time
Compensation: $19.21 per hour

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 10 am - 3 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate self-care training and therapeutic interventions for individuals receiving care.
  • Administer prescribed medications under the direction of a healthcare provider.
  • Attend to routine health care needs under the supervision of a designated supervisor or medical staff.
  • Encourage positive behaviors and appropriate social interactions among individuals served.
  • Implement behavior management strategies as outlined in program plans.
  • Engage individuals in scheduled activities and provide support as needed.
  • Utilize behavior modification techniques to ensure the safety of individuals and those around them.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures established by CARF and Goodwill.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required; verification is necessary.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a human services environment is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and proof of personal vehicle insurance are required.
  • Must pass background checks related to criminal history, child abuse, and dependent adult abuse.
  • Ability to successfully complete a post-offer physical examination.
  • Willingness to obtain certification in CPR, First Aid, and Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse.
  • Must complete company-sponsored Medication Manager training.
