Job Overview

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will engage in essential personal care tasks that support patients in their daily living activities. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Personal Hygiene: Assisting with bathroom needs, bathing, oral care, grooming, and skin and hair maintenance.
  • Mobility Assistance: Aiding patients with ambulation and transfers.
  • Nutrition Support: Helping with eating and meal preparation according to specific dietary instructions.
  • Errand Accompaniment: Providing support for patients during errands or medical appointments.
  • Housekeeping Duties: Performing cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, changing bed linens, laundry, and bathroom cleaning.

Additionally, you will execute patient-specific tasks as directed by the nursing staff, which may include:

  • Medication Reminders: Ensuring patients take their medications as prescribed.
  • Exercise Assistance: Supporting patients with prescribed range of motion exercises.
  • Dietary Preparation: Measuring and preparing special diets as needed.
  • Dementia Care: Understanding and implementing care strategies for patients with dementia.
  • Incontinence Support: Providing necessary care for incontinence.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a Caregiver or Personal Care Assistant in healthcare settings.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English as required for the role.
  • Valid driver's license and insured vehicle.
  • Access to a working cell phone with GPS capabilities.
