Job Overview

We are looking for a Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support and care for individuals in need. In this role, you will engage in direct assistance, supervision, and goal-oriented activities tailored to the needs of those you serve.

Position Type: Part-Time
Compensation: $19.21 per hour

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 10 am - 3 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with self-care training and therapeutic interventions for individuals in your care.
  • Administer prescribed medications under the guidance of a physician.
  • Attend to routine health care needs with oversight from your supervisor or medical staff.
  • Encourage positive behaviors and facilitate appropriate social interactions.
  • Implement behavior management strategies as outlined in individual program plans.
  • Engage individuals in scheduled activities and provide support as needed.
  • Utilize behavior modification techniques to ensure the safety of individuals and those around them.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures set forth by CARF and Goodwill.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required; verification of education is necessary.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a human services environment is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and proof of personal vehicle insurance is mandatory.
  • Successful completion of background checks related to criminal history, child abuse, and dependent adult abuse is required.
  • Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination is essential.
  • Willingness to obtain certification in CPR, First Aid, and Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse.
  • Must be able to complete company-sponsored Medication Manager training.
