POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facilities Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of property structures, facilities, and building systems. This position is vital for maintaining operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness across various commercial properties, including office and retail spaces.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with building engineers to address tenant repair requests related to electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance.
  • Execute daily work orders for corrective repairs, ensuring timely completion and proper documentation.
  • Support preventive maintenance initiatives, contributing to the longevity and performance of building equipment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of both interior and exterior building conditions, identifying and reporting any deficiencies.
  • Assist in replacing lighting fixtures and performing minor repairs in common areas and tenant spaces.
  • Facilitate plumbing repairs and installations, ensuring all fixtures are operational.
  • Perform touch-up painting in shared spaces as required.
  • Replace damaged ceiling tiles to maintain aesthetic standards.
  • Ensure all access doors are functioning correctly through regular inspections and maintenance.
  • Manage the installation of building signage as needed.
  • Procure necessary supplies and materials for maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools and building plans.
  • Inspect vacant spaces to ensure they meet cleanliness and readiness standards.
  • Provide responsive service to tenants regarding their maintenance requests, keeping accurate records of interactions.
  • Effectively prioritize daily tasks to ensure all responsibilities are met.
  • Accountable for the accurate and timely completion of maintenance work orders across multiple properties.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with computer systems for managing service tickets and maintenance records.
  • Strong communication skills to interact professionally with tenants and vendors.
  • Availability for emergency call-ins and potential overtime.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in various situations.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of two years of hands-on maintenance experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and navigate stairs.
  • Willingness to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, heat, and cold.
  • Availability for on-call duties as needed.
