Nvidia, a global leader in computer graphics and accelerated computing, is seeking a skilled engineer to support its Infrastructure, Planning and Process (IPP) Team. As a W-2 full-time contract based in Santa Clara, CA - Hybrid work option, the successful candidate will enjoy competitive pay ($80-90/hr) and full benefits, PTO, and an amazing company culture.

This role offers the opportunity to work in IPP, a global organization within Nvidia Software, collaborating with various groups to cater to their infrastructure needs. The cloud services provide almost half a million automated jobs per day on thousands of servers, helping with the efficiency of thousands of Nvidia's software engineers worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in large-scale enterprise production systems and a background in infrastructure engineering. They will be able to debug and analyze system issues, code to triage, root cause and resolve issues in the infrastructure, and work closely with the platform engineering team to understand hardware setups.

Key responsibilities include fleet monitoring & recovery of assets in the private cloud environment, building and stabilizing virtualization infrastructure, deploying and maintaining large farms of machines using Configuration Management & Infrastructure Automation tools, participating in on-call & rotational L1 support for round-the-clock monitoring and remediation of infrastructure issues, analyzing and debugging operating system, networking, configuration and performance problems, and contributing to the development of monitoring systems.

To succeed in this role, you should have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience, 5+ years of professional experience, scripting experience with Python, Go, or Unix shell, and experience with version control systems like Perforce, GIT. Familiarity with maintenance and setup of Linux, Windows hosts, and VM and hardware virtualization technologies like VMware, KVM, Hyper-V, Docker, and Kubernetes is also desirable.
