About the Role: As a highly skilled edge computing engineer at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing secure, reliable, scalable, and high-performance on-device software that expands our edge compute business. About the Job: We are seeking an experienced software development engineer to contribute to all aspects of the software development life-cycle with a strong focus on embedded software: bootstrap, OS, file system & encryption as well as testing and deploying software and firmware updates to Snow and Frontier devices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and build secure Linux-based wired and wireless networking stacks in virtualized environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop secure, reliable, scalable, and high-performance on-device software.
  • Contribute to cloud-based software to prepare devices for use.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and build secure Linux-based wired and wireless networking stacks in virtualized environments.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help them grow professionally.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with software development process from build, test, to deployment.
