We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor in Hydrology and Water Sustainability to join our Department of Geology and Environmental Science at the University of Pittsburgh.
About the PositionThis tenure-track position is designed to attract a researcher with expertise in identifying and modeling hydrologic change, as well as an interest in solutions to water challenges. The successful candidate will complement existing research clusters and establish an externally funded, internationally recognized research program.
Research AreasOur department is home to a diverse range of research areas, including environmental biogeochemistry, surface processes, geophysics, volcanology, planetary science, and more. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the University, including the Pittsburgh Water Collaboratory, the Climate and Global Change Center, and the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation.
Teaching ResponsibilitiesThe department offers a range of undergraduate and graduate courses, and the successful candidate will be expected to teach in their area of expertise. RequirementsA Ph.D. is required at the time of appointment, with the position scheduled to begin in Fall 2025, pending budgetary approval.
