Qualifications for Senior Quality Assurance Specialist:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of six years of experience in Quality Engineering, preferably in the Aerospace industry.
  • Proven proficiency in Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement methodologies, with a track record of leading and facilitating these initiatives.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, including the capacity to deliver technical presentations effectively.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards such as AS9100D, AS9102, ASME Y14.5 for Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and ANSI Z540/ISO 17025 for Calibration.
  • Experience with Wire and Harnessing schematics, assembly procedures, and inspection techniques in accordance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 is highly beneficial.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Quality Assurance Specialist:

  • Quality Strategy Development: Create, implement, and oversee comprehensive Quality Plans for intricate projects. This includes formulating strategies for receiving inspections, assembly and testing inspections, first article inspections, production tracking, contamination control, and configuration management, often requiring customer endorsement.
  • Technical Program Support: Provide expert Quality support to various departments including assembly, testing, suppliers, and customers. This involves reviewing and approving assembly and testing protocols, quality management systems, and engineering schematics, applying innovative problem-solving skills, and effectively conveying technical information.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to all quality-related contractual obligations for complex programs. This includes coordinating customer and regulatory audits and ensuring that contract specifications are communicated and followed by suppliers and internal teams.
  • Process Enhancement and Continuous Improvement: Spearhead initiatives aimed at refining processes and products utilizing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping. This includes conducting assessments on product and process enhancements and developing new systems and procedures.
  • Training and Development: Deliver training on Quality Management System requirements and program-specific quality standards. Provide technical guidance and training in areas such as gauge variation, designed experiments, and root cause corrective action to Quality Assurance technicians and engineers.
  • Failure Investigation and Corrective Action: Perform thorough failure investigations to identify root causes and formulate comprehensive corrective action plans. This role necessitates strong organizational, technical, analytical, and communication skills to address complex issues.
