Position Overview

The selected candidate will undertake essential responsibilities in conducting chemical and physical evaluations in a safe and efficient manner, adhering strictly to established protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment on rotating shifts to fulfill laboratory and production demands, aligning with site objectives.
  • Execute analyses utilizing standardized laboratory methodologies.
  • Conduct testing and document results for raw materials, in-process, and final product samples.
  • Authorize final products based on client specifications.
  • Approve raw materials for production in accordance with material specifications.
  • Lead or assist in investigations of non-conforming products and implement corrective actions.
  • Employ root cause analysis tools for effective problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Actively engage in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives, ensuring compliance with established safety and environmental policies.
  • Provide emergency response support as a certified Emergency Responder, including first aid and CPR.
  • Achieve proficiency in data management systems like SAP and Documentum for tasks such as Certificate of Analysis (COA) generation, quality release, and report analysis.
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory standards for product controls and validation processes.
  • Support Quality and Responsible Care Management Systems, including ISO and RCMS standards.
  • Ensure analytical laboratory equipment compliance and validate instrument controls through routine checks.
  • Enhance work procedures and maintain accurate documentation of laboratory activities.
  • Adapt to shift schedules and provide adequate shift coverage.
  • Assist operators in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Uphold the principles of the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care, along with EPA and OSHA initiatives, safeguarding the health, safety, and security of all stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with no prior experience; or
  • Associate's degree in Science with five years of laboratory experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical capabilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and verbal communication proficiency.
  • Ability to work autonomously, interpret data, and make informed decisions regarding product release.
  • Effective communication skills for delivering analytical results to production teams.
  • Understanding of troubleshooting and root cause analysis related to instrumentation.
  • Competence in repairing and maintaining laboratory equipment.
  • Capability to change gas cylinders and manage laboratory materials safely.
  • Physical ability to transport laboratory carts and manage waste containers.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
