Position Overview:

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Quality Control Scientist I for a contract opportunity. The role involves conducting routine analyses and documentation of various samples, including In-Process and Finished Product samples for pharmaceutical batch Release, Stability samples, or Projects within the QC Chemistry Laboratory, adhering to established standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine chemical testing of finished products and stability samples using both internally developed and compendial test methods.
  • Execute validated test methods for pharmaceutical finished products to assess strength, impurities, identity, and characteristics through HPLC and wet chemistry techniques.
  • Identify and report out-of-specification or unexpected results and address non-routine analytical and product issues efficiently.
  • Conduct daily instrument calibrations and verifications as required.
  • Document and communicate results accurately, ensuring compliance with prescribed lab procedures and systems.
  • Prepare test solutions, including diluents and mobile phases.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper upkeep of instrumentation.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and Safety guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with company and facility standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience in performing chemical tests using chromatographic techniques is preferred.
  • Working theoretical knowledge of HPLC is essential, along with practical execution skills.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of basic instrumental technologies and qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses.
  • Familiarity with quality and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and a logical approach to scientific challenges.
  • Ability to follow all company policies, SOPs, cGMPs, work instructions, methods, and analyst guidelines.
  • Demonstrated efficiency in multitasking and scheduling to meet workload demands.
  • Proactive in seeking additional assignments when primary responsibilities are completed.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations for tasks such as test reliability determination and analysis of variance.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to navigate office environments; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods; capability to manipulate light to medium weights (10-35 pounds); dexterity in arms, hands, and fingers, including the ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods; visual acuity for using a keyboard, computer monitor, operating equipment, and reading materials; and the ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for extended durations.

Educational Background:

An accredited Bachelor's degree or higher in a physical science, preferably in Chemistry, is required.


Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, typically Monday through Friday.
