Quality Assurance Chemist I

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Quality Control Scientist I for a contract opportunity. This role involves conducting routine analyses and documentation of various samples within the Quality Control Chemistry Laboratory, adhering to established standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine chemical testing of finished products and stability samples using both internally developed and standardized test methods.
- Execute validated testing methods for pharmaceutical products, assessing strength, impurities, identity, and characteristics through HPLC and wet chemistry techniques.
- Identify and report any out-of-specification results or unexpected analytical issues promptly.
- Conduct daily calibrations and verifications of laboratory instruments as required.
- Document and communicate test results accurately and clearly, following prescribed laboratory procedures.
- Prepare necessary test solutions, including diluents and mobile phases.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper upkeep of laboratory instruments.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and safety guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with company and facility standards.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in chemical testing with chromatographic techniques is preferred.
- Strong theoretical knowledge of HPLC is essential, along with practical application skills.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
- Solid understanding of instrumental technologies and both qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses.
- Familiarity with quality and regulatory standards in the pharmaceutical sector.
- Effective problem-solving abilities and a logical approach to scientific challenges.
- Commitment to following all company policies, SOPs, cGMPs, and analyst guidelines.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently to meet workload demands.
- Proactive in seeking additional assignments and training opportunities to enhance personal skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Competence in applying mathematical operations for test reliability and analysis.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to perform ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to navigate office settings. Candidates should be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods, as well as manipulate light to medium weights. Dexterity for typing and operating equipment is essential, along with visual acuity for reading and monitoring tasks.
Education:
Accredited Bachelor's degree or higher in a physical science, preferably in Chemistry.
Work Schedule:
Full-Time; Monday to Friday.
