Bakery Department Manager

Become a key player in our Bakery team as a Bakery Department Manager In this role, you will be responsible for creating an exceptional customer experience by establishing a safe and clean environment, achieving sales and profit goals, and monitoring all functions and activities for the department.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead by Example: Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates.
- Set Goals and Empower: Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet or exceed targets through teamwork.
- Manage Scheduling: Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume.
- Train and Develop: Train and develop associates on the performance of their jobs and participate in the performance appraisal process.
- Adhere to Regulations: Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, company guidelines, food safety regulations, and guidelines.
- Provide Excellent Service: Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding specials and products sold within the department/store.
- Prepare Deli/Bakery Items: Prepare deli/bakery items per customer requests and slice deli meats and cheeses to customers' requests using proper equipment according to company guidelines.
- Offer Product Samples: Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
- Provide Fresh Products: Provide customers with the fresh products they order and the correct portion size (or as close as possible to the amount ordered) to prevent shrinking.
- Stay Current with Promotions: Inform and educate department associates on promotions, create and implement department period promotional plans in partnership with store management, and stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
- Prepare and Submit Reports: Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
- Assist with Financial Management: Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget, expense control, and profit/loss reviews, and take appropriate action on all financial reports.
- Manage Inventory: Plan and organize inventory process maintained awareness of inventory/stocking conditions, noted any discrepancies, trained department associates on inventory/stocking, and Computer Assisted Ordering.
- Ensure Food Safety: Prepare foods according to food temperature logs, follow cooking instructions, and ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.
- Reinforce Safety Programs: Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, practicing preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment, and notifying store management of any items in need of repair and of customer or employee accidents.
- Report Safety Risks: Report all safety risks, issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
Requirements:
- Effective Communication: Effective communication skills.
- Basic Math: Knowledge of basic math.
- Stress Management: Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Food Handlers Permit: Current food handlers permit once employed.
Desired Qualifications:
- High School Education: High school education or equivalent.
- Management Experience: Management experience.
- Retail Experience: Retail/Deli/Bakery experience.
- Second Language: Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
