Business Development Specialist

Southern Industrial and Southern Crane, a leading provider of operated crane services, rigging services, turn-key industrial construction, and plant maintenance services in the Southeast, is seeking a highly skilled Business Development professional to join our team in Columbia, SC.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a results-driven Business Development professional to work closely with our business unit managers, customers' procurement and engineering groups, and sales teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2B sales, crane sales, and business development, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute business development strategies to identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders
- Collaborate with sales teams to create contract-winning proposals for current and prospective clients
- Partner with design and production teams to ensure contracted product specifications are executed on-time and as agreed
- Stay up-to-date on industry news and trends, and provide subject matter expertise to the team
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
- Demonstrated achievement in B2B sales and business development
- Previous experience in crane sales and business development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation of group presentations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Basic understanding of the industry, with the ability to become a subject matter expert on the job
