Job Description

Rapiscan is seeking a skilled Depot Repair Technician to join our team in Andover, MA. As a key member of our fast-paced and quality-focused team, you will be responsible for upgrading, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, servicing, and refurbishing Rapiscan security products.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform hands-on and liaison role between engineering teams, production teams, quality teams, and the service organization.
  • Provide support for customer and company equipment by upgrading, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, servicing, and refurbishing non-intrusive inspection security systems using built-in diagnostics and external test equipment.
  • Perform and document all test and maintenance activities.
  • Aid with continual product improvement by providing innovative concepts, solutions, and processes.
  • Diagnose, repair, or replace defective units/components as appropriate.
  • Set up and utilize specialized test and diagnostic equipment to isolate malfunctions.
  • Conduct equipment/system acceptance testing following established procedures.
  • Prepare and document the details of the fix to the problem at the completion of each repair. Add repair information via Resco, CRM, and/or D365, as well as an internally designed database.

  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a repair facility or field environment highly desired, with a strong desire to learn non-intrusive inspection security equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of electronic and mechanical assemblies, as well as wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Knowledge of complex mechanical systems, familiarity with test equipment (DVM and oscilloscope), and experience with High Voltage and non-intrusive inspection security equipment preferred.
  • Customer interface and communication skills, both verbal and written, are a must.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to work overtime as requested and non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight.
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.
