Assembly Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Operations Specialist to join our team at Atkore International. As an Assembly Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for performing assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools, and ensuring production materials are available.
Key Responsibilities- Assembly Operations: Read and comprehend production Standard Work and Job Function Analysis (JFA), operate and observe machinery during production, and identify acceptable or unacceptable product quality to customer requirements and quality standards.
- Material Management: Ensure production materials are available, and collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers to achieve productivity and site goals.
- Safety and Quality: Adhere to all safety procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions immediately, and perform any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools.
- Equipment Operation: Operate chop saw cutting flexible metal conduit to specified lengths, pull multiple lengths of electrical copper wire through conduit, cut & strip wire using manual hand tools, and crimp electrical contact onto wire ends using hand tool or automated crimp machine.
- Quality Control: Report any quality control issues to supervisor, and work as an individual or team environment.
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience: 1 year of Assembly, Machine Operator, and/or manufacturing experience.
- Skills: Ability to understand and follow instructions, ability to read and understand basic electrical schematic diagrams, pay attention to detail, maintain a clean & safe environment, and able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
- Regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently required to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
