Overview

Voices College-Bound Language Academies is a public charter school network dedicated to preparing students for higher education through a rigorous dual-immersion program. Our mission is to bridge the educational gap for low-income communities by providing a bilingual and biliterate education.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as our Interim Chief Operating Officer. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of operations management, strategic planning, and team leadership. This role will play a critical part in driving the growth and success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the CEO to establish and achieve organizational goals, objectives, and strategic plans.
  • Lead the development and implementation of operational systems, including compliance, risk management, contracts, facilities management, data and information systems management, and food and transportation services.
  • Oversee the operations team, including human resources, technology, and staff recruitment.
  • Develop and maintain user-friendly tools for data aggregation and reporting.
  • Work with the Network Operations Manager to review relationships with external service providers and ensure effective service delivery.
  • Ensure the provision of food and facilities services for all schools in the network.
  • Oversee the Network Technology Manager to ensure proper technology planning and support.
  • Manage the Network Operations Manager to ensure timely and accurate student data submissions.
  • Maintain custody of leases, operational contracts, and other documents.
  • Report on operations to the Board of Directors.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 7 years of demonstrated operations experience.
  • Demonstrated passion for the mission and values of Voices Academies.
  • Ability to establish and implement effective business systems.
  • Experience leading in a fluid, start-up environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to attract and develop stakeholder relationships.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Suite.
  • Outstanding written, speaking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to exercise excellent judgment in decision-making.
  • Willingness to become familiar with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Experience or commitment to public education, social justice, efficacy, and equity.

Working Conditions
  • Regular requirement to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
