Key Responsibilities
  • Support and train newly hired forklift operators to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Assist supervisors and management in planning, assigning, and directing work to ensure smooth operations and meet productivity goals.
  • Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using powered industrial equipment, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Operate sit-down forklifts in and out of rail cars, safely opening and closing doors and working in confined spaces.
  • Unload inbound shipments, move product to storage locations, and efficiently stack and store product in designated areas.
  • Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring accurate loading and shipping.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage, reporting quality variances as needed.
  • Keep accurate records and reports to maintain tight inventory control and security, assisting with physical inventories and ensuring proper stock rotation.
  • Follow customer requirements and instructions to ensure accuracy, safety, and quality in all operations.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as Customer Service, Transportation, and Maintenance, as needed.
  • Perform good housekeeping practices, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Conduct operations and equipment in a manner that promotes safety, reporting unsafe conditions to leadership.
  • Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices, reporting noncompliance when observed.
  • Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Forklift Operator experience required.
  • Must be able to successfully complete post-hire assessments.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain equipment certifications (e.g. OSHA, company, etc.).
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work environment.
