Job Summary

The Project Engineer will be responsible for developing projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely and budget-friendly execution while maintaining quality standards. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee and manage engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely and budget-friendly execution while maintaining quality standards.
  • Design and Development: Collaborate with other departments to design and develop engineering solutions to improve operations and reliability, focusing on efficiency and safety.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to coordinate project activities and demonstrate a customer-focused approach.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams, improving root cause analysis and resolution of engineering issues.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all project activities comply with relevant regulations and standards, including environmental, health, and safety guidelines.
  • Budget Management: Prepare budget estimates for projects, monitor spending, and control costs.
  • Documentation: Prepare project documentation, including schematics, operations manuals, and safety guidelines.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, ensuring delivery, quality, and compliance to Savannah's requirements.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Continuously seek to improve processes through technological innovation and efficiency initiatives.


Requirements
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in chemical or mechanical engineering, or highly developed with experience and specialty training.
  • Experience: Prior experience in project management and engineering within a manufacturing, industrial, or refinery environment is highly advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using engineering software and tools, including Auto Cad, project management software, and equipment sizing programs.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively handle project management challenges.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential for interacting with various stakeholders and preparing effective reports.
  • Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership skills to manage teams and projects effectively, and good interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and other departments.


Working Conditions
  • The refineries require the wearing of personal protective equipment, including flame retardant uniforms, safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hats, and hearing protection.


Decision Making/Accountability
  • Position results have a direct impact on operations of the entire company, requiring independent judgment with little or no supervision.
