Your Role

As a Senior/Staff Backend Engineer at CSS, you will play a vital role within our data-driven development team, actively participating in the advancement of innovative internal tools. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Data-Centric Development: Engage with a team focused on data-driven solutions.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in the planning of various internal tools.
  • Agile Practices: Utilize agile methodologies for software implementation and testing.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with a team to enhance and support technological initiatives.
  • Code Development: Write, debug, maintain, and test code across diverse projects.
  • System Architecture: Design scalable systems with an emphasis on robust architecture.
  • Continuous Enhancement: Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Innovation Leadership: Foster innovation within the team and support technological progress at CSS.
Team Focus

The primary objective of the Orders team is to deliver reliable, transparent, and extensible restaurant order orchestration. We provide restaurants with precise metrics of their success and the necessary tools for enhancement.

To achieve this, our team develops the framework and integrations to assimilate order data from global online food ordering services into the CSS ecosystem, managing the financial data pipeline for all orders.

This team operates some of the highest-traffic services within the organization, processing millions of customer orders daily across numerous integrations. We also maintain systems to monitor data quality, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our revenue data. Our belief is that our success is intertwined with the success of the restaurants we serve.

Candidate Profile
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of relevant experience in the specified role.
  • Impactful Contributions: Proven track record of significant contributions in previous positions.
  • Architectural Design: Strong capability to design and develop enduring architecture from the ground up and evolve existing systems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with a knack for collaborating with non-engineering stakeholders.
  • Distributed Systems: Experience in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and efficient distributed systems.
  • High-Traffic Applications: Proven experience in maintaining and enhancing large-scale, high-traffic applications.
