Corporate Paralegal Specialist

Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation is a leading global vacation company offering vacation ownership, exchange, rental, and resort management. The company has over 120 resorts worldwide and provides legal support to its business.
We are seeking a Corporate Paralegal Specialist to join our Law Department's Registrations and Mexico team in Orlando, Florida. As a member of the team, you will work closely with the Mexico Regional Counsel to perform research, document analysis, drafting, and other tasks requiring knowledge of Mexican law.
The successful candidate will provide legal support to the Company's Mexican resorts and vacation ownership business, including drafting contracts, leases, and other documents. You will also be responsible for maintaining association minutes books, tracking legislative proposals, and interacting with government officials as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft English and Spanish language correspondence, documents, and memoranda for review;
- Research legal topics, summarize, and assist with preparing checklists with legal requirements in Mexico and other jurisdictions;
- Create and maintain timeshare registrations for products located or marketed in Mexico and other jurisdictions;
- Maintain association minutes books for Mexico projects;
- Review, analyze, and track legislative proposals in Mexico and other Spanish-speaking jurisdictions;
- Actively contact associates to obtain information and guidance regarding support to be provided;
- Compile information and prepare documents for timely registration and regulatory submittals;
- Interact with outside entities to gather and provide information, documentation, or data;
- Modify existing legal documents and create computer-generated black-line drafts of deeds, leases, contracts, and other related documents;
- Create, update, and maintain databases as appropriate;
- Analyze various documents as required;
- Review Spanish language marketing and other documents and translate to English as needed;
- Consult with and direct files to the appropriate associate when issues arise outside of their responsibility or experience;
- Create and maintain paper and computer files of correspondence and documents;
- Assist with training new associates, as requested;
- Work with designated departments to provide approved sales documents to on-site sales personnel;
- Assist in gathering information and resolving issues with clients;
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Four-year college degree or equivalent qualifying work experience with an excellent employment record;
- Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program helpful but not required;
- Four or more years of relevant substantive experience as a paralegal or equivalent experience in a law firm, title agency, corporate law department, or government agency;
- Experience in timeshare or condominium law and with Mexican law is strongly preferred;
- Fully bilingual (verbal and written) in English and Spanish.
Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
