Job Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Defense Paralegal to join our team at AppleOne. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in defending civil litigation matters, providing critical assistance throughout the legal process.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys in managing and organizing case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries, motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
  • Coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel regarding case matters.
  • Prepare and respond to subpoenas, interrogatories, and other discovery requests.
  • Perform e-filing in state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
  • Maintain and manage attorney calendars, including scheduling hearings, depositions, and meetings.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, and coordinating logistics.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as timekeeping, correspondence, and billing.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a paralegal role, preferably in defense litigation.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw) and case management software.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and e-filing systems.
What We Offer:

We offer competitive compensation packages, including an estimated annual salary of $65,000-$90,000, based on experience and qualifications. We also provide major medical, dental, vision, 401k, and statutory sick pay where required.
