The Beverage Hospitality Specialist is tasked with orchestrating service for patrons and liaising with both front and back of house teams to deliver an exceptional dining experience that surpasses guest expectations.
Staff members will provide warm hospitality and ensure that all patrons receive friendly, attentive, and prompt service consistently, adhering to established Biltmore service protocols.
The Beverage Hospitality Specialist is responsible for the setup and service of tea and beverage events while maintaining outstanding customer service. This role requires flexible scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and potential overtime as necessary.
Availability on weekends and holidays is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve tea and various beverages to guests in a courteous and professional manner.
- Address guest needs and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Accurately take orders and process transactions through a point-of-sale system.
- Maintain knowledge of different tea varieties and offer recommendations to guests.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure food orders are accurate and delivered promptly.
- Keep tea and beverage service areas clean and organized at all times.
- Process guest orders to guarantee that all items are prepared correctly and in a timely manner.
- Present, open, and pour wine while serving guests.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the complete menu and available beverages. Promote menu items and beverages effectively.
- Ensure that the required uniform is kept clean, neatly pressed, and in good condition.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and potentially holidays.
- May assist with stocking, clearing, and resetting dishes and silverware between courses, as well as cleaning and resetting vacated tables.
- Will ensure all side duties are completed before the end of the shift, preparing for the next meal period.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior serving experience in a full-service dining establishment is preferred. Ideal candidates will have at least six (6) months of relevant experience in an upscale environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional guest service and anticipating guest needs.
- Excellent communication and guest relation skills are essential; candidates should be comfortable offering warm, sincere, and gracious hospitality.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage various guest service situations in alignment with Biltmore standards.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
- Must be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proactive approach, sound judgment, and initiative are required.
- Professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with Biltmore standards are essential.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 25-50 pounds; lift and carry 25-50 pounds on a large serving tray, above shoulder level, with one hand, bent in reverse 90 degrees. Staff will run their own food orders.
- Requires significant walking or standing.
- Work environment may involve some exposure to hazards or physical risks, necessitating adherence to basic safety precautions.
- Employee will work in a restaurant or kitchen setting.
