Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Property/Building Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of multiple midrise residential buildings in Brooklyn, NY.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be highly organized, and possess a solution-oriented mindset to resolve tenant issues efficiently while ensuring smooth property operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the main point of contact for tenants, addressing inquiries, complaints, and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate and oversee regular building maintenance and repairs, ensuring a swift response to repair requests and proactive resolution of potential issues.
  • Act as a liaison between tenants, building owners, and contractors, ensuring clear communication and expectations.
  • Manage tenant move-ins and move-outs, including property inspections, maintenance, and any necessary repairs or improvements.
  • Administer rent collection, tracking payments, and following up on delinquencies.
  • Ensure accurate records of leases, payments, and tenant communications.
  • Develop and maintain positive tenant relationships by providing excellent customer service and timely problem-solving.
  • Coordinate third-party vendors and contractors for routine maintenance, repairs, and property upgrades, ensuring compliance with building standards.
  • Manage building budgets, prepare financial reports, and ensure cost-effective solutions for property maintenance and operations.
  • Conduct regular building inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and adherence to regulations and building codes.
  • Prepare and execute emergency protocols and procedures, ensuring tenant safety and property protection.
  • Ensure facilities comply with applicable laws, codes, and policies.
Requirements:
  • GED or High School Diploma (required); Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Real Estate Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Building Manager or in a similar tenant-facing role.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant property laws, regulations, and building codes.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to manage and resolve tenant issues.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience managing rent collection, tenant files, and property finances.
  • Ability to think critically and provide effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
