Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician to join our team at Monroe Public Schools. The successful candidate will provide intensive behavior support services to students in-district, working collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and other support staff to implement behavior support plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess student needs and provide interventions to redirect behavior
  • Collect and submit data needed for Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans to affect behavior changes
  • Provide direct consultation to building administrator(s) and/or building BCBA, specific to analysis of data and recommendations for modifications or revisions to BIPs
  • Model implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans for assistants and support staff
  • When required, provide physical intervention for students demonstrating unsafe behaviors
  • Participate as a member of the school crisis team
  • Attend meetings as requested
  • Maintain consistency of Behavioral Intervention Plans by communicating and providing input to teachers and other support staff
Requirements
  • Minimum of high school diploma and formal training in theories of Applied Behavioral Analysis
  • Successful completion of the Registered Behavior Technician training course and examination for certification
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience working with students who require behavior support
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a cohesive team
  • Ability to lead/model behavior support strategies for others
  • Ability to take and respond to directions of administrators
  • Must be flexible, creative, and problem-solving oriented in approach
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and relatability to work with students of all ages
Working Conditions

The job will be physically demanding at times, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, use stairs, get up and down from off the floor, and walk, jog, or run quickly.

CPR/First Aid Certification is required.
