Join Our Culinary Team at Peak

We are currently seeking talented individuals for various culinary roles.

Available Positions:

  • Line Cook: $18-$23.00/hour
  • Prep Cook: $18-$20.00/hour
  • Jr Sous Chef: $24-$27.00/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support kitchen personnel in meal preparation using standardized recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all food storage areas, including refrigerators and freezers.
  • Assist in stock preparation, food labeling, and maintaining food safety standards.
  • Contribute to prep cooking and special events.
  • Adhere to safe food handling practices and sanitation procedures as per SERV Safe guidelines.
  • Familiarize yourself with kitchen equipment and its operation.
  • Ensure a tidy work environment, including floors and passageways.
  • Perform cleaning tasks as directed by the Culinary Management team.
  • Comply with standards set by the NYC Department of Health.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong professional work ethic.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a prep or line cook in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to follow directions from supervisors.
  • Capability to maintain organization and efficiency in a high-pressure setting.
  • Excellent knife skills and proficiency in detailed cooking.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively address challenges.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards set by health authorities.
  • Physical ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 30 pounds, and stand for extended periods.
