Job Description

Summary:

The Materials Inventory Coordinator is accountable for overseeing daily material operations, which encompass receiving, stocking, kitting, and various material movements. This role involves coordinating and facilitating the flow of materials to Production and Engineering projects. The Coordinator collaborates with teams across Engineering, Production, Depot, Test, Logistics, and Materials to ensure seamless operations. The position includes both manual and clerical tasks to support the adherence to Production delivery timelines. Transactions are recorded in the ERP system, and a Secret security clearance may be necessary.

Responsibilities/Skills:

  • Provide guidance and direction related to tasks for department members.
  • Process incoming materials for Jobs or Stock, generate receiving labels, and physically allocate to the appropriate location (Kit or Bin).
  • Manage material transfers between Jobs and Stock from Production, print labels, and ensure proper routing to designated locations (Kit or Bin).
  • Analyze various ERP dashboards to identify potential issues before processing transactions.
  • Engage in advanced problem-solving as required prior to transaction processing.
  • Assemble Job kits for Production, Engineering, and Depot requirements.
  • Maintain the parts storage area in a clean, organized, and secure condition.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and conduct audits to verify precision.
  • Uphold a high level of inventory security to prevent unauthorized material removal.
  • Maintain both hardcopy and electronic records related to Jobs, Kits, and Inventory.
  • Assist departmental personnel with inquiries regarding part availability.
  • Prioritize transactions and material distribution to align with production schedules.
  • Provide backup support for Shipping/Receiving operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Problem Solving and Discretion/Latitude:

  • Possess advanced knowledge of the role and all related skills.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the implications of ERP Job to Job and Issue transactions.
  • Be well-acquainted with both general and detailed aspects of the job and their practical applications to common problems and situations.
  • Work with limited supervision, requiring no instructions for routine tasks and general guidance for new or special assignments.
  • Engage frequently with individuals from other departments within the organization.

Knowledge/Requirements:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required, with a college degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience is necessary.
  • Ability to identify electronic and mechanical components, along with knowledge of part handling protocols such as static sensitivity and shelf life.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with documentation is essential.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office is highly preferred.
  • A solid understanding of multi-level BOMs, parent-child relationships, and the hierarchical structure of assemblies is required.
  • Capability to obtain a Secret security clearance is necessary.
