About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Material Handler 2 to join our warehouse team at Dexcom. As a Material Handler 2, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse, including receiving, shipping, manufacturing support, and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete all warehousing activities, including receiving, shipping, manufacturing support, and inventory control, in compliance with safety, cGMP, and quality standard operating procedures.
  • Perform all activities of a Material Handler 1, including utilizing pallet jacks, stand-up reach trucks, sit-down reach trucks, turret trucks, electric rider jacks, and box trucks to unload/load material and transport it between areas.
  • Obtain and/or has been certified on at least one type of material handling equipment.
  • Perform transactions in ERP/WMS system, including shipping, entering cycle counts, material receipts, shipments, and looking up material status/location.
  • Utilize Outlook to send emails to internal partners and complete basic data entry in Excel or other programs.
  • Perform 7-point inspection on tractor trailers prior to unloading/loading materials, inspect inbound materials for damages, and verify material information against vendor paperwork and PO.
  • Prepare pick lists for materials based on requests from manufacturing and/or planning, pick, stage, and transact bulk and non-bulk materials, and prepare advanced shipping notices (ASNs).
  • Actively look for opportunities to drive improvements in operations and bring suggestions to supervisory staff.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a material handling role.
  • 1 year utilizing Oracle/WMS or 2 years of experience completing transactions in other ERP/WMS system.
  • 1+ year experience operating electric-powered material handling equipment.
  • Basic computer data entry skills and basic understanding of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to obtain a forklift certification.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills and strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

Employees in this position may be required to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, frequent use of hands, fingers, wrist, and greater arm to handle small materials, tools, boxes, and trays, lifting and carrying objects up to 50Ibs, occasional overhead reaches and lifts, occasional lifts and reaches below the knee, occasional pushing and pulling of materials and objects with moderate forces, occasional crouching/kneeling, twisting, and squatting movements.

Employees may be exposed to environmental conditions such as work near moving parts, work with chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat (non-weather), extreme cold (non-weather), exposure to intense light and/or intermittent light, fast-paced work, and elevated noise levels.
