Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the private swim lesson program, ensuring a high-quality experience for our members.
- Serve as the connection point between youth swim lessons and our competitive swim team, facilitating the transition of qualified swimmers to the team.
- Lead and instruct swim lessons, preparing and transitioning qualified swimmers to the swim team.
- Coach a designated swim team group, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.
- Serve on the summer camp leadership team, preparing swim instructors, lifeguards, and day camp staff to serve our day camp youth.
- Assist in all aspects of day-to-day operations of the Aquatics Department, including lifeguarding, hiring, training, and supervision of the lifeguard and swim instruction team.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Youth Development, Teaching, Psychology, Sports Management, or Physical Education.
- 1-3 years of competitive swimming coach experience and 1-3 years of swim lesson experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in staff supervision and knowledge of current YMCA or Red Cross preschool, youth, and adult curriculum, trends, and teaching design.
- Certification in CPR/AED for Adults, Children, and Infants and First Aid, as well as Lifeguard certification.
- Ability to obtain YMCA/USA coaching certification within 3 months.
