Job Title: Assistant General Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant General Manager to join our team at Goldfish Swim School. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our swim school, including staffing, pool operations, cash management, customer service, retail and vending departments, private party operations, and workplace employee activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and control daily operations to ensure the school is running according to GSS standard operating procedures.
  • Assist General Manager and department managers with fulfilling daily tasks.
  • Manage staff to ensure high productivity, excellent performance, and positive employee satisfaction.
  • Train and oversee aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction to students.
  • Provide sales and marketing training to qualified sales staff.
  • Direct retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing.
  • Train and oversee private party staff to maintain GSS standard operating procedures.
  • Gain knowledge and experience in Links software for bookings, class scheduling, reporting, and administrative functions.
  • Gain a high level of knowledge and experience in GSS pool operations to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment.
  • Initiate and oversee workplace employee activities to achieve improved employee satisfaction.
  • Direct and oversee the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider required.
  • Two or more years of management experience preferred; two or more years as a swimming instructor preferred.
  • Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and first aid certification required; shallow water attendant highly recommended.

Work Environment:

While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
