About the Role

David Evans and Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Inspector to join our Transportation group in Boise, ID. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing on-site construction inspection and documentation for transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical calculations and related work in the field or office.
  • Inspect and document project construction to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of labor, equipment, materials, and quantities.
  • Communicate effectively with Construction Managers, Lead Inspectors, and field engineering staff.
  • Assist in developing design projects for construction.
  • Calculate quantities and produce sketches using Excel, CADD, or hand-drawn methods.
  • Assess existing curb ramps for future construction projects.
Requirements
  • Basic computer skills in Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively with client representatives, contractors, the public, and peers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High school diploma.
  • Proficiency in basic math skills.
  • Ability to obtain ITD inspector certifications within 6 months.
  • Ability to obtain WAQTC certifications within 6 months.
  • Good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience reviewing and understanding plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction practices and equipment.
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience.
