Job Summary

The University of Kentucky is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Trauma Acute Care & Surgical Services Center at UK Chandler Hospital. As a Critical Care ICU Nurse, you will provide total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care to adult patients with trauma or acute care surgical conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, document, plan, implement, teach, develop, and evaluate a comprehensive nursing plan of care
  • Deliver direct patient care, ensuring patient satisfaction, and adhering to University policies and procedures
  • Train and delegate duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant)
  • Collaborate with the nursing staff and team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes
Requirements
  • Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), Provisional License, or active compact state Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification for the Healthcare Provider valid for at least 6 months after employment date
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis and 25-50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN + at least 1 year of RN experience
