Job Title: Psychiatry APP Nights/UKHC

Job Summary:

The Psychiatry APP Nights/UKHC functions within the acute care psychiatric hospital emergency room setting, working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. As an integral member of the psychiatry department medical management team, the APP manages the care aspects of assigned patients from admission to discharge or transfer. The APP has a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and education, ensuring a safe and quality care environment. The APP demonstrates advanced medical knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, and professionalism in interpersonal and general communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient care from admission to discharge or transfer
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Ensure safe and quality care environment
  • Demonstrate advanced medical knowledge and clinical competency

Requirements:

  • MSN for Nurse Practitioners or BS for Physician Assistants
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification or enrollment in post-master's program within one year of hire or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C)
  • The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull pounds on a daily basis; as well as stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Dual certification in PMHNP/FNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner/Family Nurse Practitioner)
