Tax Analyst

Our client, a prominent financial services organization, is seeking a Tax Analyst for a long-term contract engagement.

Work Arrangement:
Hybrid
Position Summary:
The Markets Tax Information Reporting (TIR) team is accountable for IRS Tax reporting, including 1099 and 1042 forms, across various workstreams and legal entities. Given the substantial volume of client accounts and transactions, there may be occasional reconciliation discrepancies during the year-end review process. The analyst will collaborate with the TIR Subject Matter Expert (SME) to conduct a data reconciliation of previous financial filing years to identify any discrepancies that could lead to incorrect tax reporting or potential under/over withholding of U.S. taxes. Additionally, the analyst will work alongside the SME to generate specific metrics for management presentation and track the progress of reconciliations and any resulting discrepancies/resolutions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze data and perform reconciliations to identify any issues or data anomalies.
  • Present findings to the SME and management.
  • Assist in resolving any data issues through the completion of specific templates and work papers.
Required Qualifications:
  • Practical experience in reconciliation activities within a financial institution.
  • Experience in compiling data, defining, documenting, and presenting findings and progress.
  • Hands-on experience in an operations environment.
  • 2 to 5+ years of relevant experience in an operations setting.
  • Ability to reconcile data from multiple sources.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact confidently with various divisions at all levels.
  • Proactive and inquisitive mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
