Job Overview:

The Markets Tax Information Reporting (TIR) team is tasked with the crucial responsibility of managing IRS Tax reporting, specifically focusing on forms 1099 and 1042s across various operational streams and legal entities.

Given the substantial volume of client accounts and transactions, the processes involved are a blend of manual and automated systems, which may occasionally lead to discrepancies during the year-end reconciliation process.

The analyst will collaborate closely with the TIR Subject Matter Expert (SME) to conduct a thorough data reconciliation of prior financial filing years, identifying any discrepancies that could result in incorrect tax reporting or potential under/over withholding of U.S. taxes.

Additionally, the analyst will partner with the SME to generate specific metrics for presentation to management, tracking the progress of reconciliations and addressing any identified discrepancies.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze data and perform reconciliations to identify issues or data anomalies.
2. Present findings to the SME and management.
3. Assist in resolving any data issues through the completion of specific templates and work papers.

Knowledge and Experience:
1. Practical experience in reconciliation-related activities within a financial institution.
2. Experience in data compilation, documentation, and presentation of findings and progress.
3. Hands-on experience in an operational environment.

Skills Required:
1. 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in an operational setting.
2. Proficient in reconciling data from multiple sources.
3. Strong interpersonal skills to interact confidently with various divisions at all levels.
4. Proactive and inquisitive mindset.
5. Excellent MS Office skills.
