Job Overview:

The Markets Tax Information Reporting (TIR) division is tasked with managing IRS Tax reporting obligations, specifically 1099 and 1042 forms, across various operational streams and legal entities.

Given the substantial volume of client accounts and transactions, the processes involve a combination of manual and automated systems, which may lead to discrepancies during the year-end reconciliation process.

The analyst will collaborate with the TIR Subject Matter Expert (SME) to conduct a thorough data reconciliation of previous financial filing years to identify any discrepancies that could result in inaccurate tax reporting or potential under/over withholding of U.S. taxes.

Additionally, the analyst will assist the SME in generating specific metrics to present to management, tracking the progress of reconciliations and addressing any identified discrepancies.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze data and execute reconciliations to identify issues or data anomalies.
2. Present findings to the SME and management.
3. Support the resolution of data issues through the completion of designated templates and work papers.

Knowledge and Experience:
1. Practical experience in reconciliation activities within a financial institution.
2. Experience in data compilation, documentation, and presentation of findings and progress.
3. Hands-on experience in an operational environment.

Skills:
1. 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in an operational setting.
2. Proficient in reconciling data from multiple sources.
3. Strong interpersonal skills to interact confidently with various divisions at all levels.
4. Proactive mindset with a questioning approach.
5. Excellent MS Office skills.
