About the Role

Meta Platforms, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Performance and Capacity Engineer to join our team. As a Performance and Capacity Engineer, you will play a critical role in scaling the largest web capacity in the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including Product Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, and Data Engineering, to find the optimal way to scale the infrastructure.
  • Own end-to-end product design, launch, and operation, including architecture design, defining networking requirements, and helping code build from scratch to support new product launches.
  • Tackle state-of-the-art hardware and software performance issues, analyze and debug difficult server performance issues, identify bottlenecks, and optimize product/service performance to improve user experience.
  • Work closely with software developers to improve code base performance, reduce resource consumption, and shorten request latency.
  • Plan the largest server and data center capacity, own and drive overall Meta Platform capacity planning work for all different products/services, and recommend DC expansion plans.
  • Write monitoring, reporting, and data-mining tools to perform performance and capacity-related tests and analysis.
  • Run capacity and performance experiments to determine scaling and utilization parameters for various service tiers.
  • Own company server budget and track it, present performance and capacity roadmap for critical projects and cost analyses in presentation and written form monthly to executive teams.
  • Work with financial analysts, operations, and engineering teams to perform cutting-edge technologies investigation and cost analysis.
  • Identify capacity-related issues proactively and work with systems, network, application operations, and engineering teams to discover resolutions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Physics, or related field.
  • Completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in coding and scripting languages, data analysis, budgeting, or planning, working with cross-functional teams, and working with micro service-based architecture.
