Our Opportunity

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Practice in Menlo Park, CA. As an Electrical Engineer at Exponent, you will work on a variety of projects, including consumer electronics, appliances, medical devices, electrical infrastructure, and more. You will have the opportunity to define and shape your individual consulting practice based on your skills and interests.

Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis and consulting on scientific and engineering problems in electrical and electronic components, products, and systems.
  • Support project areas, including failure analysis, risk assessment, reliability, design, manufacturing, and others.
  • Work as an individual contributor and in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in all stages of a project lifecycle, from scoping and proposals to designing experiments, conducting and supervising tests, collecting and analyzing data, preparing reports, and presenting to clients.
  • Pursue business development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, such as Applied Physics.
  • Technical focus in electronics, semiconductors, circuits, electromagnetics, power electronics, batteries, or related cross-disciplinary areas.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment, designing, validating, and conducting electrical tests, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to convey technical conclusions to both technical and non-technical staff in engineering, business, and industry.
  • Self-starter with strong fundamentals and interested in learning about new topics.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities, which will be assessed during the interview process. Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions, and we offer a total compensation plan that is consistent with our expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed.
