Job Title: Facilities Engineer 1

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Engineer 1 to join our team. As a key member of our Facilities and Operations Division, you will play a vital role in ensuring the functionality and reliability of our electrical systems.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented engineer with a strong background in electrical power systems to perform various tasks, including electrical power analysis, designing and implementing protection schemes, and troubleshooting electrical faults. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical power analysis, including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analysis.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop protection schemes for our electrical systems.
  • Assist in designing control systems to monitor and manage power distribution.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve electrical faults and anomalies.
  • Analyze data and provide recommendations for improvements to enhance system reliability.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and proposed solutions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or other appropriate specialty.
  • Knowledge of electrical protection and control systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
