Job Title: Chief Financial Strategist

At Zocalo Recruiting, we are seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Strategist to drive financial strategies, focusing on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and financial planning & analysis (FP&A), to help expand our market presence and achieve sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute M&A initiatives, including target identification, valuation, due diligence, and integration.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to assess strategic acquisition opportunities and develop financial models for potential deals.
  • Manage post-merger integration to ensure the smooth financial transition of acquired companies into the existing business.
  • Conduct risk assessments and financial analyses to ensure that acquisitions align with the company's growth strategy.
  • Oversee the development and execution of budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to drive financial performance.
  • Partner with operations and business leaders to develop financial strategies that align with production goals and market demand in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Lead variance analysis, trend analysis, and profitability assessments to support operational decisions.
  • Serve as a key financial advisor to the executive team, providing guidance on financial risks, investment opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
  • Develop strategies to optimize working capital and maximize profitability, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team to support both M&A and FP&A functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and market conditions that impact the food manufacturing sector.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in finance roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record in managing M&A processes from due diligence to post-acquisition integration.
  • Strong FP&A background with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • In-depth knowledge of the food manufacturing industry, including cost accounting, supply chain finance, and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial data.
