Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Advisor to join our team at WSSC Water. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, responding to their inquiries and concerns, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver excellent customer service by responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Review and analyze customer accounts and billing information to resolve complex issues and provide accurate and complete information to customers.
  • Interact with customers to schedule and process meter readings, process electronic payments, and initiate or remove penalties and fees.
  • Maintain contact and follow-up with customers through multiple channels, including phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Cultivate effective customer relationships that foster customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Grant bill extensions and assist with bill collections by initiating turn-offs for non-payment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, including handling inquiries and resetting customer passwords for iCare.
  • Stay informed on WSSC Water business operations, including daily water main breaks, to better serve our customers.
  • Educate and advise customers on water and sewer tips, such as identifying leaks on property.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience, with 1+ year of inbound call center experience preferred.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn and use communication systems, including radio dispatch console equipment and operating procedures.
  • Ability to learn and use customer service software, including CSIS, MMIS, and GIS.
