Job Overview

About the Position

The Senior Reliability Engineer is responsible for implementing Reliability Engineering principles to enhance design specifications and operational efficiency of essential assets throughout the organization. This role involves developing analytical techniques to assess the reliability of components, machinery, and processes. The engineer will gather and evaluate data, preparing reports to identify reliability challenges, propose enhancements, and prevent failures.

This position collaborates with various stakeholders, including engineers, maintenance teams, operations, quality assurance, project engineers, and others to formulate and execute reliability strategies throughout the Asset Life-Cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough analyses of manufacturing and utility process equipment to establish and implement reliability strategies (RCM) aimed at minimizing failures or their impacts in a cost-effective manner.
  • Lead or assist in asset criticality evaluations and the formulation of FMEA and FMECA to support the reliability strategy.
  • Work closely with Planner/Schedulers and Parts-room Attendants to ensure Job Plans and Spare Parts strategies align with Reliability strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Lead or assist in Root Cause Analyses and failure investigations in response to deviations or safety incidents as necessary.
  • Oversee or support the execution of projects aimed at optimizing equipment performance and reliability across the organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Consult with project teams and Responsible Engineers to set reliability targets, maintainability, and total cost of ownership, employing appropriate reliability tools early in the lifecycle of new equipment to establish measurable performance criteria.
  • Utilize Maintenance and Reliability KPIs for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across multiple site functions to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
  • Engage with other sites and Global functions to develop corporate standards and best practices in Reliability Engineering.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field with 4-6 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in leading Root Cause Failure Analyses, Criticality Assessments, and FMEAs.
  • Familiarity with reliability modeling, reliability growth analysis, and allocation.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Mini-Tab, JMP, or other statistical analysis tools.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate moderately complex assignments requiring judgment in recognizing deviations from accepted practices and resolving issues.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing.
  • Practical knowledge of GMP and EMEA regulations.
  • Certification as a Reliability Engineer or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional.
